Silica Mine Operations Manager (Need 3) - Texas

Summary

The Mine Operations Manager oversees all mine production and operations, and directs the day-to-day operations of product processing.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a demonstrable history of developing and managing operations budgets and formulating detailed plans to ensure operations personnel is optimized with production run rates to minimize overtime.
Strong experience with risk assessment within a mining operations environment is essential as this role leads regular inspections to identify and correct existing and potential hazards developing on-going safety training.
As a hands-on leader, this role will develop and deliver training programs for personnel development as well as mentor the management team to ensure knowledge, programs and policies are best-of-breed.

Detailed Responsibilities

Full accountability for plant production, including: throughput, gradations, manpower and recovery
Ensure EPA compliance via thorough understanding of environmental permitting, rules, and regulations
Champion a Safety First mentality
Develop and implement detailed budgets for capital projects
Thoroughly understand plant status at every level at all times
Develop and implement proactive measures/maintenance schedules to optimize plant availability
Personally keep all plant employees up-to-date on company goals, safety, production, and manpower
Promote an environment of continuous process improvement
Develop and implement process and safety standards and procedures
Coordinate and manage crew schedules
Assist with training and development of team members
Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist operators in solving work problems
Monitor employee overtime

Qualifications include

Several years of silica mining and production experience producing 3+ million tons/year
Additional 5+ years of supervisory experience
Record of career progression and achievements
Bachelor’s Degree Required in Engineering, Mining or relevant Sciences
