Pipeline Integrity Engineer or Senior Engineer
Large multi-billion revenue energy client needs is seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer or Senior Pipeline Integrity Engineer who will serve a subject matter expert for its Pipeline and Terminals division located in Houston, TX. Compensation for this direct hire position includes a highly competitive annual base salary based on overall experience and qualifications, plus bonus, superior benefits, excellent 401k and beautiful suburban Houston campus. Evaluate the integrity of pipelines and determining strategies to proactively manage the integrity for the asset, performing Integrity Management Program (IMP) risk assessments, and evaluating the design, construction, and maintenance aspects of pipe line projects to ensure compliance with IM regulations. Provide engineering expertise to operational personnel on integrity issues as they arise.

• Internal advisor and integrity management expert. Document pipeline integrity management plan. Perform written plan updates and initiate plan changes as needed to maintain IMP regulatory compliance. Organize supporting documentation and plan for regulatory audits.
• Coordinate with and assist operations on pipeline IMP assessments (inline inspections, hydrostatic tests, other) to ensure assessment deadlines are met.
• Analyze pipeline data – perform complex engineering analysis (EFRD analysis, leak detection), analysis for High Consequence Areas, identify new pipeline threats, prepare pre-assessment data, select appropriate assessment methods, interpret risk model results, recommend applicable preventative and mitigative measures, recommend re-assessment intervals and draft written post-assessment reports.
• Analyze assessment data – review and integrate assessment data, prepare remediation and excavation plans, evaluation of defects and repair recommendations, prepare technical exhibits to assist in field assessment activities. Identify and recommend other pertinent preventative and maintenance measures for risk reduction. Perform technical analysis to evaluate pipeline condition, root cause analysis, fatigue analysis, corrosion growth calculations and fitness for service. Draft summary assessment reports.
• Provide technical support for Pipeline Integrity Projects including welding calculations, material selections, determination of required hydrostatic test pressures, MOP/MAOP calculations. Provide technical support to Terminal and Pipeline Operations field personnel to identify needs for any pipeline modifications (i.e. piggability retrofit) and coordinate with engineering to implement.
• Provide technical assistance for operations and develop training/guidance to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to Integrity Management (IM) requirements. Responsible for technical portions of the IM related audits and associated follow up action items.
• Review and evaluate new IM technology. Develop corresponding processes and procedures for use. Perform quality audits of contractor work to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Manage associated contracts with ILI vendors to ensure contract compliance and availability of required resources to support our IM Plan requirements.
• Provides support as required in development of Terminal and Pipelines capital and expense budget.

Candidate Profile:
• BS Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 (four) years experience for Pipeline Integrity Engineer role and minimum of 8 (eight) years experience for Senior Pipeline Integrity Engineer role
• Knowledge of pipeline operations
• Knowledge of terminal operations preferred
• Understanding and application of 49 CFR 195 and 192 and applicable industry standards such as ASME B31.4, B31.8, API 1160, etc.
• In-line inspection tools - operation, capabilities and limitations
• Pipeline repair techniques and applications
• KAPA/ModB31G and corrosion growth calculations
• Proficient in technical writing and MS Office
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
