Natural Gas Scheduler, Step-Up to Trader Role
Job Description
This is an outstanding career opportunity with Fortune 500 oil and gas company for the talented Natural Gas Scheduler to promote up to role of Jr. Natural Gas Trader. Here, we are searching for the well experienced Gas Scheduler with strong east coast experience and thorough understanding of the gas grid, key participants, and physical flow dynamics on pipelines such as Transco, TETCO, or Tennessee Gas. Definitely prefer the individual with a company that is asset oriented/asset heavy. To be clear, the initial breakout of responsibilities is estimated at 80% gas scheduling and 20% gas trading with the goal to significantly decrease scheduling and significantly increase trading by year end.

Responsibilities of Jr. Natural Gas Trader:

The JR. Natural Gas Trader will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Company's natural gas portfolio in the eastern US in the next day and prompt month gas market. This position supports the Company's E&P division and will be required to work closely with personnel for production forecasting and optimization opportunities. The successful candidate will thoroughly understand the gas grid, key participants, and physical flow dynamics of eastern U.S.

Manage daily and prompt month physical natural gas positions on assigned pipeline and regions
Timely communication with other traders and scheduling personnel regarding market and pipeline information
Work with traders in adjacent markets and regions to optimize assets that span large geographic areas
Support scheduling duties when needed
Assist internal departments, such as Confirmations, Risk, IT and Accounting to ensure deals are managed according to their intent in a timely and accurate manner
Build and maintain relationships with third parties to increase the Company's presence in assigned region. This will include supporting VP of Natural Gas in identifying longer term gas transaction opportunities
Support the Company's fundamental market research by monitoring market developments that may impact supply / demand in assigned region
Any other duties as directed by Manager
Adherence to all corporate Risk Management policies and procedures.

Experience Requirements:

* 3 to 5+ years Gas Scheduling experience preferably in eastern U.S. with an asset heavy company and thorough knowledge of pipes for that area of the country

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010, particularly Excel
Experience with Allegro Gas Management software a plus
Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail
Exceptional communication skills
Proactive problem-solving
Ability to work in a team environment

Education Requirement
A four year college degree from an accredited university in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or other business related degree
