Process Engineer - Chemical, High Visibility Role
Exceptional career opportunity in this high visibility role reporting directly to the Plant Manager for the 2 - 4 years experienced Chemical Engineer. Duties include supervising.

Summary: The Process Engineer assists the Plant Manager and the Operations Supervisor in managing the Company Chemical Plant (safety, operations, maintenance, and quality and engineering activities).


Authorities:

Includes authorities assigned to outside operator, board operator, and maintenance specialist plus:

With oversight from the Plant Manager the Process Engineer will:

Specify and calibrate plant instrumentation
Specify and modify plant equipment
Specify and calibrate plant software for the DCS
Modify manufacturing methods, set points and alarms on DCS software
Specify product filters
Specify product containers
Approve equipment P&IDs
Suggest new and improved production methods
Specify and purchase raw materials
Specify plant maintenance activities
Select contractors



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and implement the SAP data in direct contact with NCA Accounting Department
Manage all aspects of the NCAPP Mechanical Integrity Program
Provide oversight and management of OSHA PSM compliance within NCAPP
Keep Autocad files and plant drawings up to date
Work with the Plant Manager to understand the DeltaV distributive control system, and assist with troubleshooting of plant problems
Size equipment, including safety relief valves
Provide support to all functions of the operating plant
Spending authority authorized for all items on PRE-APPROVED annual raw material budget
Spending authority authorized to $3,000 on PRE-APPROVED annual maintenance budget
Spending authority authorized to $3,000 on PRE-APPROVED annual capital budget
Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
Maintains involvement in the local LEPC.
Some supervisory skills required for management of operators.



Education/Experience:

BS Chemical Engineering
2 - 4 years work experience in a chemical plant
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Familiarity with AutoCad
Familiarity with distributive control system programming
