Sr. Natural Gas Trader - (open due to growth, no layoffs in 5 years!)
An outstanding career opportunity with this solid Producer for the well experienced Sr. Natural Gas Trader.

$150,000.00 - $175,000.00/year

The Sr. Natural Gas Trader will be responsible for managing and optimizing Company's natural gas portfolio in the Gulf Coast US in the next day, prompt month and long-term markets. This portfolio includes production assets along with pipeline transportation. The Sr. Natural Gas Trader will also be expected to help support and grow Company's 3rd party natural gas business. This position will have P&L objectives along with asset management & optimization responsibilities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in portfolio management, asset optimization, and positive P&L contribution through proprietary trading strategies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage daily and prompt month physical natural gas positions on assigned pipeline and regions

• Work with team to support all feed-gas operations for LNG facility

• Identify, value and execute natural gas trading strategies within approved limits

• Pursue short to medium term structured transactions that enhance Company's natural gas portfolio

• Timely communication with other traders and scheduling personnel regarding market and pipeline information

• Work with traders in adjacent markets and regions to optimize assets that span large geographic areas

• Assist internal departments, such as Confirmations, Risk, IT and Accounting to ensure deals are managed according to their intent in a timely and accurate manner

• Support Company's fundamental market research by monitoring market developments that may impact supply / demand in assigned region

• Any other duties as directed by Manager

• Adherence to all corporate Risk Management policies and procedures


• Minimum 10 years Natural Gas industry experience with at least 5 years of direct gas trading experience preferred

• Marketing or Gas Operations (scheduling) experience a plus

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010, particularly Excel

• Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail

• Exceptional communication skills

• Proactive problem-solving

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Fluent verbal and written skills in English.


• Minimum undergraduate degree (Finance or Accounting preferred)
