Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Position Title:Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Department: Back Office

Reports To:Financial Reporting Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities

Financial Reporting for oil and gas producer's trading organization (trading & shipping) under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Management of Back Office SOX control testing, including testing of key management controls and co-ordination with external auditors and ETS SOX Administrator.

Skill Profile

5-10 years experience in public accounting or in industry roles with financial reporting responsibilities. Experience with commodity trading clients / companies preferred.
Prior qualified experience in Audit company – big four preferred – is preferred.
Degree in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent. Candidates in the progress of completing licensure will be considered.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) and SAP module (FI mandatory, SD and MM preferred), processes and accounting controls.

Strong multitasking skills, including the ability to manage several competing priorities at the same time.
Self-motivated and the ability to work independently yet achieve set goals and targets within deadlines.

Interact and communicate with Joint Venture partners.
Interact and communicate with external auditors, consultants and other third party advisors.


Detailed Responsibilities

Support in preparation of monthly IFRS financial results to the Headquarter.
Support in preparation of annual US GAAP financial statements including requisite disclosures and support for IFRS / US GAAP reconciling adjustments.
Support in preparation of technical accounting memorandum supporting IFRS and US GAAP financial reporting.
Prepare and record monthly journal entries.
Assist with month-end gas, crude and products accounting as required.
Perform analysis and review of transactions and financial data.
Reconciliation of SAP accounting ledger and consolidation systems.
Provide support to Treasury on daily activities (i.e. cash application) and perform as back-up as needed.

Management of Back Office SOX control testing, including testing of key management controls and co-ordination with external auditors and ETS SOX Administrator.
Management of month-end financial reporting schedule.
Support Tax Advisor in the compilation of tax authority reports, requests and/or tax payments.
Compilation and submission of company required Census reporting.

Salary - $100,000.00 - $110,000.00/year plus generous annual bonus, superior benefits and 401K, 4-1/2 day work week, paid parking, strong company stability and career opportunity
