Settlements and Finance Operations Supervisor
Large international firm is seeking a Settlements and Finance Operations Supervisor who will be responsible for oversight of daily operations and leadership, including responsibilities in settlements, margin operations, and finance operations. A successful Settlements and Finance Operations Supervisor will have a strong settlements background and is able to train and supervise a team of analysts, create efficient processes, and improve daily operations. Supervise a staff of 2-3 analysts and build and develop team responsible for settlements across multiple commodities including natural gas, power and crude oil.
Ensure invoices for traded commodities are sent to counterparties timely and monitor monthly checkout with bilateral counterparties.
Check and arrange/approve the payment invoices.
Work with internal groups such as traders, schedulers, operators, risk management and accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and to ensure accurate and timely receipt and payment for settlement activity. Report discrepancies or non-payment to CFO.
Monitor month end accounting entries in ETRM system.

Collateral and Clearing Margin

Monitor and oversee daily position, clearing margin settlement (including bank letters of credit) and collateral margin settlement. Report status and results to CFO.
Reconcile clearing brokerage statements and broker fees


Monitor cash receipts and communicate past due status to appropriate departments
Oversee cash management (monitor cash balances, forecast cash moving and arrange borrowing from affiliate)


Analyze department performance, identify areas of improvement and make effective change and efficiencies.
Provide back-up support of team staff as needed

Candidate Profile:

BA or BS in Business, Accounting, Finance or equivalent
6-8 years minimum experience in an energy related field
3 years minimum supervisory or lead experience required
Experience working of margin operation required
Experience working in an ETRM system is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization
Ability to quickly adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
Familiarity with NAESB, EEI, ISDA and CSA a plus

$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 /year
