Geological Advisor - Strong Permian Basin Exp. - 8 to 10 Years Experience, Master Degree Required
To serve in a senior-level role in the assessment of geologic, geophysical, and petrophysical data, develop exploration, exploitation, and enhanced-oil recovery initiatives and provide technical and industry expertise to the team.

Essential Functions:

In coordination with other team members, design and implement geoscience program
Constructing regional correlations, geologic basin models, reservoir models, and associated maps utilized to aid understanding of current and future resource potential, well planning and development plans
Be an effective communicator and comfortable while presenting or in an executive-style environment
Liaising with Partners
Aid with the recruitment and mentoring of Interns


Master’s degree and 8 - 10 years in oil and gas geoscience efforts with solid Permian Basin experience with an operating company. Knowledge of industry reserves booking process. Proficient in Geomodeling, Petra/Kingdom, and Petrel (and other geologic, geophysical, & petrophysical software), ArcGIS, IHS and Enerdeq, as well as proficiency in MS Office products.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Requires specific and broad-based Permian Basin experience and the application of geologic knowledge, skills and techniques in a high visibility role that will impact the success of company. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of: workstation-based regional and prospect-specific geologic interpretation and mapping; Seismic interpretation (seismic structure, facies, and attribute interpretation); petrophysical log analysis; well log interpretation of lithofacies and depositional environments; reservoir prediction from well control and seismic interpretation; reserve/resource evaluation; practical application of sequence and seismic stratigraphic techniques. Will have a pragmatic understanding of basin analysis, petroleum systems, and geochemistry as they pertain to high-grading plays and acreage positions. Experienced in conventional and unconventional exploration and development with broad understanding of both clastic and carbonate processes in a variety of structural settings. Ability to plan and oversee projects; apply geological concepts; plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others; and work independently. Strong interpersonal, communication skills to work effectively in collaborative team environment. Exceptional administrative and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, make preparatory plans, schedule, identify and define key responsibilities with minimal supervision and deliver work on time. Strong track record of achievement. Good team player with passion for geology.

$170,000.00 - $190,000.00/year
