Located near the Memorial City/I-10 area, this energy company offers an excellent career opportunity for the degreed accountant with 3 years experience. General Responsibilities:

The Staff Accountant is involved in day-to-day accounting activities such as AP, AR, month close, reconciliations, and reporting. The successful candidate will possess the ability to maintain and provide high performing support and as-assigned functions in a fast-paced organization. Must be organized, detail-oriented with the ability to analyze information, maintain complete and accurate records, and provide prompt, courteous responses to inquiries from vendors and internal customers.

Reports to:Controller

Key Interfaces:

Data Licensing, Data Processing, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal Department, IT and Vendors

Specific Functional Responsibilities:

Processes AP, AR, month close, reconciliations, and is heavy involved in the day-to-day accounting activities.

Works regularly with transactional detail to identify correct amounts and ensure all items are processed properly.

Assist the Controller with generating financial reports, research activities and resolving discrepancies.

Works with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and that payments are received in a timely manner.

Communicates with internal clients to discuss account payment statuses, charges or discrepancies.

Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.

Assist in the formulation of internal controls and established best practices.

Assist in problem solving when business issues arise.

Understands and aligns with the basic expectations of the department and of the role.

General Qualifications (Professional Degree(s), Yrs of Specific Experience, Certification(s)), Job Knowledge, and Skills:

Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience is required.

3+ years’ experience in a corporate accountingenvironmentwith a solid understanding of accounting principles, specifically with accounts payable and accounts receivables.

Payroll and audit experience are a plus.

Strong computer skills including experience with an ERP based system are required (must be proficient in Word and Excel), Business Central skills are preferred.

Effective written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.

Quick learner, easily trained and adaptable to changing environments.

Strong reporting and analytical skills are required.
