Job Title - Trading Support Analyst

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Trading Support Analyst provides comprehensive front-line support of Allegro ETRM and all other applications on the trading floor. This role will also lead projects to implement applications relative to trading, marketing, risk management and accounting. This role has visibility to internal and external customers including vendor relations, and it is highly technical with a priority to provide technical support, project management, and technology trends analysis to proactively support the trading business and keep the company’s application portfolio current.

As you read the following detailed job description, here are the key points to keep in mind that are must haves: (1) minimum 5 years working with Allegro ETRM, (2) must have experience with SQL Queries, SQL database and Office Applications, (3) must understand commercial concepts behind energy areas like gas/power, crude trading, operations, risk.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

• Support of the main ETRM trading application environment (Allegro ETRM) and its auxiliary applications. The detailed responsibilities include user support, vendor communications, installations, testing, documentation, diagnosis, resolution of problems, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, capacity management, provisioning, patching, upgrading, custom report creation, and performance tuning of the application systems.
• Responsible for managing the lifecycle of the trading applications from selection, implementation, project execution, continuous improvement to decommission.
• Effectively record and monitor progress of all issues raised, providing timely feedback to the business users as required.
• Manage vendors that support the application portfolio.
• Work collaboratively across lines of business and departments and implement governance, policies and procedures to ensure applications are efficiently utilized, the cost to operate and support the applications aligns with the business expectations, and that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
• Research emerging industrial trends, applications, standards, and databases and provide recommendations about future planning and implementation.
• Support traders and analysts in front office by designing and creating a centralized database including but not limited to aggregation of numerous data resources.

WORK EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years working experience with, Allegro ETRM system required.
• Must be experienced with SQL queries, Microsoft SQL database and Office applications such as Excel and Access.
• Must have excellent understanding of the commercial concepts behind gas / power / crude trading, scheduling, operations, risk management, counterparty credit risk, and accounting.
• Application database management, software installation / patch management, data import / export, custom report creation, and general system administration.
• Additional application portfolio preferences: Bloomberg, Cloud 9, ERCOT, Globalview, ICE, NGX, Platts, Oracle EBS Financials, and SharePoint.
• Working knowledge with Business Intelligence and Cloud SaaS applications preferred.
• Ability to work in a high paced, customer-oriented IT team with a strong sense of urgency and a “Users First, Same Day Service”, “Business Enabler” mentality.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to provide reliable and informative project status to supervisors and users; superior organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently or on a team.
• Ability to interface across different levels of the business.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time.
• Ability to explain complex ideas in a cohesive, crystal-clear manner.
• Must be willing to be on call and occasionally work nights, weekends or holidays.
• Highly motivated, self-sufficient, and enthusiastic individual who has strong desire to grow
• Occasional travel to support company needs and to remain current with applications and vendor relations required. *Not expected to exceed more than 5% of work time.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent technical expertise required.
• Hands-on experience with project and change management methodologies required; certifications such as PMP and ITIL are highly preferred.
