Reports To - Assistant Controller
Job Title - Sr. Accountant

Senior accountant to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.


Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure a redundant process backup is in place for every critical operation:

Monthly, quarter, & year-end closing
Monitor accounts payable/receivable
Cash receipts
Derivative transaction reconciliation
Processing and posting of Journal entries into General Ledger
Revenue and expenditure analysis
Reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement each month
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Coordinate and complete annual audits
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for management and executive teams
Implement and monitor month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules
Maintain high level of accuracy in the use of resources through proper monitoring and efficient analysis of the accounting department’s activities
Ensure precise and opportune periodic, quarterly and annual ledger close
Ensure the timely coverage of all monthly payments, bills and receivables reporting
Make sure the correct and appropriate dispensation of constructive pay transactions


Proven experience as Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor in Oil & Gas (trading group desirable)
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
Ability to analyze large amounts of data
Proven knowledge of US GAAP, bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to direct and supervise


* Excel: 5 years
* Accounting: 5 years to include oil and gas accounting with preference for some experience in a trading group
* Oracle (preferred)
* Solarc Right Angle (preferred)

Education requirements:

Degree in Accounting or Finance.

$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 /year
