Revenue Accounting Manager - Outstanding Oil & Gas Operating Company (Manage 5)

Primary Duties:

Primary responsibility for management of the Revenue Accounting activities which include the recording, invoicing, analyzing and processing of revenues, royalties and related expenses for multiple companies. Other responsibilities include management, review, and monitoring of revenue related data prepared by marketing operations and production accounting. Additional responsibilities include responding to revenue audits and partner/owner requests, and reporting to governmental agencies and internal management.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Secondary responsibilities involve determining system solutions to various changes in revenue-related activities and management of revenue cash application and receivables systems.

Skill Profile

1. 10+ years experience in the US oil and gas industry, specifically in exploration and production.

2. Minimum 7-10 years recent experience with oil and gas revenue and distribution of royalties.

3. Degree in Accounting.

4. Solid experience with ONRR reporting and audits.

5. Good understanding of information technology and computer applications.

6. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization.

7. Excellent managerial and leadership skills with a proven ability to plan, organize and train others in revenue accounting matters.

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Coordinate the activity of the revenue accounting group including technology to support this area.

2. Monitor and review the work of the revenue accountants and supervisor to provide guidance when necessary.

3. Review, manage and/or monitor data (sales invoices, transportation invoices, contracts, gas balancing, sales volumes, pipeline statements etc.) from marketing operations and production departments.

4. Review and analyze joint operating agreements, production handling agreements, divisions of interest and purchaser contracts and provide advice and guidance regarding appropriate accounting treatment.

5. Attend various seminars and meetings regarding revenue and regulatory issues..

6. Investigate ways to improve operations with other areas and coordinate enhancements with responsible party.

7. Review ONRR reports before submission electronically to ONRR with payment.

8. Review and coordinate responses to ONRR inquiries and audit requests.

9. Analyze complex valuation issues for compliance with federal regulations.

10. Review cash forecast for treasury purposes.

11. Review account reconciliations for various revenue related accounts.

12. Manage the maintenance of all revenue records for regulatory and management purposes.

13. Determine performance measures for direct reports and conduct reviews.

14. Other requests and duties as assigned.

15. Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

16. Provide Revenue Flash Report which summarizes sales volumes and values by product.

17. Provide analysis and fluctuation explanations on revenue accounts to management and auditors as required.

Education Required
*B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics from a 4 year accredited university


Salary range - $140,000.00 - $145,000.00 /year
20% annual bonus, 10% 401 contribution with no matching required, superior benefits, paid parking, flex hours, very stable (no layoffs in 20 years!)
