Market Analyst - Energy Trading & Marketing Group in Large Producer, Prefer Commodity Exp.
The Market Analyst will be responsible for fundamental analysis to help Oil, Gas, and Power traders better understand the market environment. The Market Analyst is required to provide both near-term and long-term market analysis. For both cases, the analyst needs to understand the trading strategies of each commodity and company’s long-term goal. While the Market Analyst will primarily work within the Company, he/she may occasionally work with other global Corporate group entities related to US energy such as Petrochemical, LNG, Global Oil Trading, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Market Analyst will be responsible for establishing oil & gas fundamental analysis along with the Company's energy business growth. Market Analyst is expected to provide the strategic market analysis and insight to contribute to trading P&L as well as long-term business development.

Conduct supply and demand analysis to support traders in generating trading strategies
Identify market trends with extra focus on supply analysis including oil & gas production, pipeline/storage capacity, and producer’s financial status
Conduct macro analysis of NGL as supplemental tool for oil & gas supply analysis
Design, develop, and support creation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc market reports
Manage report & data subscription with efficiency and create the database accessible to traders
Support traders in identifying, evaluating and modelling optimization opportunities
Provide training to colleagues in the team
Provide US oil & gas market analysis presentation to internal and external parties as needed



REQUIREMENTS

Minimum undergraduate degree (Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Mathematics preferred)
Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience required in a similar role working with commodity traders in oil, gas, or power to better understand the market environment
Basic knowledge of US oil & gas market and logistics required, strong understanding of market risk preferred
Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010, particularly Excel required, VBA and SQL skills preferred
Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Must be an inquisitive and self-motivated
Ability to work in a team environment
Experience in trading risk system is preferred
