Reservoir Engineer - Unconventional

The primary responsibility of the reservoir engineer (RE) is to provide assistance to the Drilling, Completion and Production Manager of company's producing assets through well evaluation, production forecasting and economics evaluations. In addition to these primary duties, the RE will also provide independent oversight to assure compliance with internal and external reserve and resource estimation and reporting processes. The RE will be expected to review all reserve and resource changes proposed, coordinate external audits, conduct reviews of reserve and resource estimates and effectively communicate results to management. In addition to the assistance provided to the producing assets the RE will be expected to contribute to the BD team through reviews and evaluations of various upstream opportunities in multiple oil and gas basin of the North American and GOM. They will also participate in training, policy development and implementation, and strategic planning for reserve and resource oversight and validation activities.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Utilizing Spotfire and databases to leverage multi-variant analysis and make recommendations towards optimizing development plans on large well count inventory. Track well performance, and evaluate effectiveness of completion designs, along with artificial lift installations to provide guidance on production forecasting and development plans.

• In conjunction with the Geology team, provide recommendations on well proposals and lease offers upon receipt from operators. Proactively evaluate and make recommendations on lease re-linquishments.

• Assist in opportunity screening, review, evaluation and recommendation with the support of the business development team.

• Use PHDWin to perform decline curve analysis, build type curves and perform economic evaluations for existing assets and assets under review through BD projects.

• Provide training assistance and mentoring to less experienced reservoir engineers.

• Provide practical guidance to asset teams to ensure reserve and resource volumes are accurate, follow best practices, and meet company policies and process requirements.

• Work with asset teams and third-party consultants to coordinate internal and external audits.

• Evaluate results of these reviews and work to resolve outstanding differences.

• Assist in development and updating of processes, procedures, and training materials.

• Assist in development of the information required by third party reserves evaluation companies.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of seven years of experience is required with a minimum of five years as a Reservoir Engineer. Additionally, three years of the Reservoir Engineering experience must be in development of unconventional reservoirs with emphasis on application of reserve estimation workflows.

• Additional experience in Reserves Engineering at the asset or corporate level is a plus.

• Advanced knowledge of PHDWin, Spotfire, Excel, PowerPoint, and reservoir simulation programs is required.

• Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, principally writing skills.

$140,000.00 - $160,000.00/year
