Business Development – Equity Crude Term Sales - Houston, TX
This position will originate term sales contracts for the company’s crude oil production in the Americas region of this global, integrated energy company. Will report to the Americas Region CEO and functionally reports to Global Head of Business Development. Will work alongside Crude and Products traders developing new business ideas in conjunction with affiliate business development teams. • In close co-ordination with other parts of the company, develop and deliver integrated opportunities that add value to affiliates
• Work closely with the Trading teams to negotiate and execute transactions that create material and sustainable value for the trading books
• Assisting in the development of strategies for the trading books
• Developing deal structures to deliver the greatest value from opportunities
• Provide analytical assessments to support the approval process for transactions
• Negotiate and conclude transactions within an agreed strategy to generate value for the Company
• Ensure that all transactions are supported and approved by the relevant trading bench
• Ensure that all transactions are approved through the agreed deal approval process
• Provide insight and support to the development of the long-term strategy for the Company
• Maintain regular communication with key personnel in Upstream to identify and deliver new integrated projects
• Maintain regular communication with key clients and customers
• Develop new relationships with external parties (producers, refiners, marketers, storage companies, banks and financial institutions) to deliver transactions in accordance with agreed strategy
• Develop and present analysis to management on future business development opportunities
• Track and communicate to colleagues developments in the market and relevant market intelligence, including supply and demand balances and competitor activities
• Support the other members of the business development team in developing long-term asset and contractual positions in line with the Company's long-term strategy

CANDIDATE PROFILE
The client is seeking the commercial professional with a record of success and demonstrated potential to lead this function for the Americas. Must be a disciplined team player with solid commercial acumen, global crude oil market experience and exceptional English communications skills. Other characteristics include:

• Degree (Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or related degrees preferred)
• 3 years minimum experience in crude oil trading or business development in a trading environment
• Knowledge of the use of derivatives in structured transactions
• Experience of the role of financing in the trading business
