Accounting Operations Manager - Must Have Solid E & P Operating Co Experience
Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Accounting Operations Manager will manage the Oil and Gas Accounting Operations Department including Revenue/Royalty, Joint Interest Billing, AFE & Operations Accounting reporting, as well as assist within Accounting systems maintenance and improvements. A successful Accounting Operations Manager will have working knowledge of all accounting systems and will be able to work independently, make decisions, lead and train staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

*Management of oil and gas Revenue/Royalty system and processing including take-in-kind sales for both US onshore and US offshore, royalty and ONRR payments, severance tax payments, state income tax withholding and IRS Form 1099
*Management of Joint Interest Billing, AFE system, cash advances, monthly account reconciliation and quarterly capital and well control accruals
*Assist in maintenance of accounting systems, most notable Oracle/P2 accounting
*Responsible for Joint Venture Audits
*Assist in the external audit, JSOX audit and internal audits as applicable to Accounting Operations Department
*Responsible for Unclaimed Property Report state filings
*Perform other accounting functions as assigned

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

*Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in oil and gas E&P accounting
*3-5 years’ experience as a manager
*Medium to Advance Excel skills; working skills with other Microsoft applications
*Working knowledge with Oildex and EnergyLink systems
*Ability to work through complexity and within a large global business environment
*Ability to work with all departments within the Company
*Proven strong leadership skills; team leader; ability to teach and train staff
*Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
*Operate with integrity, teamwork, open communication, strong sense of ownership/accountability
*P2 Land system experience a plus

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor degree in Accounting required
